Ministry is a calling filled with both great joy and immense challenges. Throughout our 21 years in pastoral ministry, my wife, Catalina, and I have been blessed by the support of faithful mentors who helped guide us through the ups and downs of serving in the church. However, we have also personally experienced the deep heartache that comes with ministry—the weight of expectations, the loneliness, and the silent suffering under immense pressures. Unfortunately, these challenges are all too common among ministry leaders and their spouses.
Every year, an alarming number of pastors and their families step away from ministry, often due to exhaustion, isolation, and the strain it places on their marriages. Many suffer in silence, feeling they have no safe place to turn. The burdens of ministry can be overwhelming, leaving leaders discouraged, burned out, and questioning their calling.
This reality is what led us to serve as Field Shepherds with Standing Stone Ministries. Our heart is to come alongside pastors, ministry leaders, and their spouses to provide confidential, no-cost pastoral care. We offer a safe space for couples to share their struggles, process their pain, and find renewed strength for the road ahead. Our desire is to see ministry leaders and their families not just survive, but thrive in their calling.
